            System Administrator for AT&T Unix based Host computer networked with 56 users for a period of 6 years and for the SCO Unix for one year simultaneously. Requirement of Data porting , software tuning and Commissioning this machine enriched me in System Administration immensely.

            Extensive Software Development in 'C' using CTIX C-ISAM and INFORMIX C-ISAM on Unix platform for over 11 years. Advanced Shell Programming using C-Shell, Bourne and Korn Shell. Developed and Implemented Application Package for Centralized Pay Accounting System, including Pay and Allowances computation, Provident Fund Management, Deduction of Income Tax at Source, Loan Management and Effecting remittances to banks using ECS for entire Indian Navy. Development with MF COBOL-2 Years experience. Did self-learning on Linux as it is almost Unix. Just before Premature Retirement, did Certifications from CMS Computers, Mumbai. I firmly believe that any amount of Courses one do would not make one master unless and until one practices for long hours on Computer. My average working on Computers by way of self working on Modules or training my staff had been about 10 hours a day in last 14 years. I firmly believe that teaching is the best way of learning.

            Head of the Y2K team comprising of five Software Professionals who were responsible for making the package Y2K compliant involving changes in Over 2,50,000 lines of 'C' source code and 50,000 lines of Cobol source code which was completed in record time and I was personally commended by The Chief of Naval Staff for the same.

1984-1987 - Instructor at National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune, India, job-involving training of cadets to become Officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
1981-1984 - Apart from doing various Marine related Courses, performed duties of Signal Communication Officer, Navigating Officer and ASW Officer.

5. Summary of Qualifications and Computer Courses Done

Aug 2001- todate Learnt on job in a new environment of Web based Technology with a Network of one Server and six PC's and one Networking Printer. Self Learnt PHP, MySQL, Apache Web Server under Linux Operating System by way of Developing number of Database Driven Websites.

2000-2001- OOPs Concepts, Software Project Management and DBA in Oracle, VB and Java from CMS Computers, Mumbai.

1996-1997- Software Engineering, SQL Plus, Networking & Client Server Technology from APTECH Mumbai. I would like to submit here that I have had no "Hands on Experience" on these for want of opportunity ,However, Brushing up is on.
